Lions, Browns pick wrong sides of Ohio State-Michigan rivalry with NFL Draft choices

You're really not supposed to switch sides in the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry.

That's The Game. There's either one or the other.

But the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns complicated things on Thursday night in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The Browns took Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 5 overall. The Lions took Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams at No. 28 overall.

Those will be some tricky changes of address.

Two fan bases that mostly root for their own state's college team will have to embrace a player who was once an enemy.

It likely won't be a huge problem as long as Graham and Williams can impact games with their size and athleticism on the interior like they're capable of.

The odds seem quite slim that these reverse picks happened, specifically with defensive tackles no less.

It doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but it's a cool quirk for sure.

The Browns took their pick after a shocking trade down from No. 2 overall when they passed on Travis Hunter, so Graham will be scrutinized for a long time.

The Lions stayed at No. 28 with no movement, and they're seeking a Super Bowl. The national champion Williams will step right into that pursuit for Detroit.

We'll wait and see how these two latest NFL representatives from The Game perform in the league.
