A former AEW and WWE champion has shared a glimpse into his personal life after having wrapped up his full-time wrestling career. The star in question, Bryan Danielson, now works in the Jacksonville-based promotion as a broadcast personality.

The American Dragon was last seen in action at WrestleDream 2024, where he lost his AEW Men's World Championship to his former ally and fellow BCC co-founder Jon Moxley. After the bout, The One True King and his crew completely annihilated Bryan, putting an end to his full-time career inside the squared circle. Although he returned to All Elite Wrestling programming earlier this July at All In: Texas to help Hangman Page dethrone Mox, Danielson has not taken part in active competition since October last year.

During his recent appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show, the erstwhile Daniel Bryan spoke fondly and positively about his year since he retired from full-time in-ring action, mentioning highlights such as coaching his son Buddy's T-ball team and teaching his daughter Birdie how to ride a bike, besides expressing gratitude for being able to spend more time at home with his kids.

“I don’t have any specific moments that were just like, ‘Oh wow, this or oh wow that.’ It’s just been a very pleasant year. I was done full-time wrestling and got to be… I got to coach Buddy’s T-ball team. I get to be home more with the kids, like regularly doing stuff... Finally teaching Birdie to ride her bike… she did it this year. One of my favorite things ever is just riding bikes with her now” - said Bryan.

The former multi-time WWE champion went on to add:

“None of it is just like this what you described as like a pop-off moment, but the general pleasantness of my life has greatly increased just being at home with everybody.” [H/T - Ringside News]

Danielson met his wife, Brie Bella, back in 2010 when both stars were still signed with WWE. The couple tied the knot four years later.

Bryan Danielson on his relationship with a top WWE name

Since the beginning of his career in WWE, Bryan Danielson had worked quite closely with The Miz, initially appearing in the promotion as the latter's rookie before eventually becoming one of The A-Lister's most enduring rivals. While their on-screen hostility has led many to assume that the two stars don't get along in real life, the former Blackpool Combat Club member revealed recently that he actually does like The Awesome One, indicating that their beef existed in storyline only. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Bryan said:

"I always say in interviews that 'Oh, me and Miz don't like each other,' or whatever it is, but I think I can drop the act and say I like him. We created this story that's lasted since the time I started with WWE. We were always working together, but we are very different personalities, so you can buy it." [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Danielson last battled and defeated The Miz one-on-one at a house show back in 2020, when he was still signed with the Stamford-based company.
