WWE is set to enter a new year, and the management has already locked in on a few changes for 2026. According to a new report, 4-time champion has officially moved to the main roster. The star is none other than Trick Williams.
WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington also provided a platform to the stars of tomorrow, as several upcoming names competed at the event. On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams had a confrontation with Cody Rhodes in a backstage segment at Nick Aldis' office.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Williams has officially joined the main roster under Triple H's creative regime. A previous report stated that he was internally on the list, but Meltzer confirmed that he has joined WWE's main roster.
Moreover, the insider has stated that The Game-led creative team is developing a storyline to figure out which brand will become the former North American, TNA World, and two-time NXT Champion's new home in the promotion. However, Williams will likely be on the blue brand along with his real-life fiancée, Lash Legend.
Trick Williams' former partner won a title on WWE SmackDown
Before Trick Williams became one of the hottest free agents in the Stamford-based promotion, he was introduced to the audience as Carmelo Hayes' friend. The two were in an act for a long time on the developmental brand before Williams got over with the crowd, and Hayes was in his final few months on the brand.
Later, Carmelo Hayes turned on his best friend and former tag team partner in 2024. The two headlined NXT Stand and Deliver, and Hayes moved to WWE's main roster. Meanwhile, Williams carried the momentum and eventually became the NXT Champion.
On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes defeated Ilja Dragunov to win the United States Championship on the final SmackDown of 2025. It'll be interesting to see whether the two reunite or feud for the title in the coming months on the blue brand under Triple H's creative regime.
