A Minecraft Movie was one of the biggest surprises of this year as it performed way better than what most players were expecting. The performances were great, the story was fun, and it worked perfectly to entertain both seasoned and new fans of the franchise. However, it is also worth noting that there were a lot of aspects of the blocky world that were not shown in the movie.
The great thing is a sequel to A Minecraft Movie has been officially announced and it is planned to release on July 23, 2027. It means that the makers have more than two years to work on the project. While we wait for an update about the film, here are some of the things I would love to see in the sequel of the blocky movie.
4 things I would love to see in A Minecraft Movie sequel
1) Fighting the Ender dragon
The Ender dragon was not featured in the movie (Image via Mojang Studios | Warner Bros)The first Minecraft movie barely showed anything related to the End dimension. There was one small scene featuring the Enderman but that was all. The End is such a bizarre and interesting location that can have loads of stories and the makers should use it in the plot of the upcoming film.
One of the most challenging and popular boss mobs, the Ender dragon, can be found in the End. Perhaps the next movie can show Steve trying to fight it. Since the first movie showed Steve having elytra, it is possible that he has already fought this dreadful mob. Maybe the makers can show a flashback featuring the Ender dragon.
2) Exploring the mysterious areas of Minecraft
There are many places such as the ancient cities, trial chambers, etc that are worth exploring (Image via Mojang Studios | Warner Bros)While the first movie showed the Nether dimension, it skipped other interesting locations. This is understandable as there are many such areas in the game and the movie has a limited runtime. However, the next movie can feature regions such as the trial chambers, ancient cities, and even the nether fortress.
All these areas have some interesting hostile mobs such as the warden, the breeze, and the blaze. It would be interesting to see these mobs in a completely different format. Since they also drop valuable loot, they can also play an important part in the plot of the film.
3) The lore of the illagers
Illagers offer an interesting plot worth exploriing (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming | Mojang)Illagers are some of the most interesting mobs in Minecraft and there are some very dark fan-theories associated with them. For example, a lot of players think that the ravager beast is created by the Evoker using dark magic on innocent villagers.
Illagers have an outpost where they trap mobs and having them in the movie would be a great way of adding a subplot filled with intense action and thrill. Hopefully the makers also dabble in the lore of the ravager and give a concrete origin story of this mysterious mob.
4) Proper use of future features
New mechanics can be used in creative ways in the movie (Image via Mojang Studios | Warner Bros)An interesting aspect to think about is that the second Minecraft movie will come out in 2027. In the meantime, the game will get a ton of different features, mobs, items, etc.
For example, after the release of the first movie, players got copper weapons, happy ghasts, animal mob variants, and the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem update will bring even more features.
If Mojang Studios releases four game drops every year, we might get six new game drops before the movie releases. So it is quite difficult to guess what new features will be showcased in the upcoming sequel.
However, it is certain that the second Minecraft movie will be bigger and better than the first one, featuring more things from the game.
