4-star QB leaving UCLA to end Nico Iamaleava saga

The final piece of the Nico Iamaleava transfer drama appears to have fallen into place.

UCLA brought in Iamaleava from Tennessee, along with his brother Madden from Arkansas and Pierce Clarkson from Louisville.

Joey Aguilar already left the program to transfer, ironically, to Tennessee.

And now, remaining UCLA quarterback Dermaricus Davis has announced his transfer away from UCLA to Hawaii.

Davis is a prototypical 6-foot-5, 200-pound QB. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school in California.

He initially went to Washington, then transferred to UCLA, but he has yet to see the field as a college football player.

Hawaii could be the beneficiary of all this movement, because Davis is a huge talent to wind up with the Rainbow Warriors.

Not the worst place for Davis to end up, either. I mean, it's Hawaii.

Even in the transfer portal era, this is about as much quarterback room shakeup as a program could have in one offseason.

What remains to be seen is whether it'll actually work out for UCLA. They'll certainly have more eyes on them than ever when next season begins to see how it all goes down.
