The November 7 edition of WWE SmackDown is set to air from Greenville, South Carolina, and will showcase the fallout from Saturday Night's Main Event XLI. Two title matches and two singles matches have been announced for the show so far.
In addition, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will appear after retaining his title against Drew McIntyre in controversial fashion. However, the main event for the show hasn't been announced yet. In this listicle, we'll predict four ways WWE SmackDown could end tonight:
4. Oba Femi could debut and dethrone Ilja Dragunov for the WWE United States Championship
Among the two title matches in store tonight is Ilja Dragunov's United States Championship Open Challenge. Former NXT Champion Oba Femi hasn't appeared on the developmental brand since losing his title to Ricky Saints at No Mercy.
With rumors suggesting he could move to the main roster soon, The Ruler could make his debut by dethroning Ilja Dragunov for the US Title. This could start an intense program between the two former NXT stars, which could help revitalize the blue brand's mid-card division.
3. Chelsea Green could regain the Women's United States Championship from Giulia
Giulia is set for her first Women's United States Championship defense tonight against Chelsea Green. The Hot Mess will look to regain the title and prevent Giulia from becoming the longest-reigning Women's US Champion, a record that belongs to her.
The Beautiful Madness has had a very underwhelming reign with the title, and could drop it to Green if the match main-events the show.
2. Drew McIntyre could attack Nick Aldis
At Saturday Night's Main Event, McIntyre was planted face-first on the WWE Championship belt, which helped Cody Rhodes gain the advantage and win. The stipulation for the match was that The American Nightmare would lose the title if he were disqualified, but the referee never saw Rhodes use the title.
Like last week, McIntyre could accuse SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis of being corrupt and might go as far as to attack him. This could lead to The National Treasure finally stepping into the ring, potentially for a match at Survivor Series WarGames against Drew McIntyre.
1. Randy Orton could attack Cody Rhodes and turn heel
The Viper has mysteriously been off television for the last few weeks, but could make his return tonight. With Cody Rhodes' feud with Drew McIntyre seemingly over, Orton could return and reveal that he was the one who attacked Jacob Fatu backstage.
Moreover, he could turn on Cody Rhodes by attacking him and challenging him for the title. Orton has been eyeing the WWE Championship several times, and fans have been waiting for the storyline between the two to start for a long time.
Their wait could end tonight if Randy Orton returns to SmackDown and turns heel on Cody Rhodes to end the show. It would be a great way to kick off a deeply personal rivalry and would surely elevate the condition of the blue-branded show after the huge slump in ratings last week.
