I’m not a dad yet, but I will be in about six months. Exciting times are ahead, and I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I assume that’s part of the experience.

Whenever I come across online communities like r/daddit celebrating dads doing funny, wholesome, and extremely dad-specific things, it makes me even more excited. I’m tired of the tired jokes about dads being clueless, unhelpful, or unable to watch their own kids without receiving a medal. Every dad I know is crushing it in his own way.

These dads prove that being a great parent can mean creating sweet memories, finding humor in the exhausting moments, or committing way too hard to a bit. That last one is the part I feel most prepared for.
