That being said, nobody is better at sniffing out B.S. than the internet. Casual readers on social media and Reddit can spot one suspicious detail from a mile away. The people featured on r/ThatHappened shared these absurd stories with complete confidence, but everyone else had a few questions.

I’m not saying you can’t embellish a little for entertainment purposes. Sometimes a story needs a fresh coat of paint. But some people take it so far that even the most casual reader can see the truth waving goodbye in the rearview mirror.
