She disclosed how The Rated R-Superstar, John Cena, and many others pushed to scrap the angle. Lita added that she went ahead with the celebration because Vince McMahon, WWE's Chairman at the time, threatened to fire her.

In 2022, while speaking on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, former writer Chris DeJoseph discussed how the creative team came up with the infamous angle featuring Edge and Lita.

Chris DeJoseph revealed that McMahon asked everyone in the meeting room if they were The Rated-R Superstar, and if they won the world title from John Cena, how would they celebrate the victory? In response, DeJoseph came up with the angle.

"Edge had just won the title from John Cena and cashed in the Money in the Bank. We were in a meeting with Vince, and he said, ‘Well, what would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?’ and I said, ‘I would have s*x with my girlfriend in the middle of the ring for everybody to see.’ So that’s kind of how that Live S*x Celebration thing happened."
