The buzz for IPL 2026 is on, with reports emerging of a possible trade involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

While there has been no official word out yet, there are serious talks about the trade going on, if reports are to be believed. Should the trade go through, CSK could let go of their long-serving and veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja made his CSK debut in 2012. He played for the franchise till 2015 and was back with them in 2018 after their return to the league following a two-year suspension. The all-rounder has remained with the franchise ever since and won the trophy thrice with them in 2018, 2021, and 2023.

He has played 186 matches for CSK in his career so far. The left-hander has scored 2198 runs along with 143 wickets.

On that note, here are three players who can replace Ravindra Jadeja if CSK trade him out ahead of the IPL 2026 Auction.

#3 Sanjay Yadav

Left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Sanjay Yadav was unsold at the IPL 2025 auctions. The 30-year-old was part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad in 2022 but played just one match.

Sanjay Yadav played for the Trichy Grand Cholas in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025. He scored 196 runs from eight innings at an average of 32.66 with two half-centuries. Having played in the TNPL, Sanjay will bring in familiarity with conditions, which could be a key factor.

He has scored 546 runs in 35 T20s so far and has bagged 21 wickets. Being a left-handed batter and a left-arm spinner, he could be a decent option to replace Ravindra Jadeja.

#2 Tanush Kotian

After going unsold at the IPL 2025 auction, Tanush Kotian joined the Punjab Kings (PBKS) as a net bowler. Kotian was part of the Rajasthan Royals in 2024 but played just one game.

In the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the bowling all-rounder bagged nine wickets from as many games for Mumbai at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 7.44. He has been in solid form, having picked up 11 wickets in his last two first-class matches.

Kotian can also bring some balance with the bat. He has over 2000 first-class runs with two hundreds and 17 fifties. The 27-year-old could be a long-term prospect for CSK as Ravindra Jadeja's replacement. Spin-friendly conditions in Chennai could also suit him well.

#1 Jagadeesha Suchith

Left-arm spinner and left-handed batter Jagadeesha Suchith could be a solid bet for CSK to replace Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder brings immense experience with him. He has played 22 IPL games and has picked up 19 wickets.

When the Mysuru Warriors won the Maharaja T20 Trophy in 2024, Suchith played a vital all-round role. He scored 161 runs from 11 innings at a strike-rate of 164.28 and bagged 12 wickets as well.

In his recent Ranji Trophy outing for Uttarakhand, Suchith scored 67 runs in the first innings and claimed five wickets in the match. He brings his wicket-taking ability and the quality to score runs at a quick pace down the order, which could benefit CSK.
