#3 Evan Bouchard

Evan Bouchard had one of his best games for the Edmonton Oilers this season. The team’s top defenseman notched three assists on the night. He played nearly 19 minutes of ice time across 24 shifts.

While he didn’t register a shot on goal, his offensive play led the Oilers to score three times with him on the ice. He notched a plus-3 rating in what was a solid defensive effort.

#2 Leon Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl was money in the bank once again for the Edmonton Oilers. Draisaitl scored midway through the second period to tie the game at three. The goal opened the floodgates as the club pulled away from the Mammoth.

Here’s a look at Draisaitl’s nifty tally:

The sequence started with Bouchard faking a slapshot, then passing to Jake Walman. Walman fired the puck in a shot-pass, with the rebound landing on Draisaitl’s lap. He did not miss and tied the game at a crucial juncture of the game.

Draisaitl ended the night with two points (1G, 1A) in nearly 21 minutes of ice. He registered four shots on goal.

#1 Connor McDavid

Connor McDavid had one of his best games this season. He scored twice to lift the Oilers past the Mammoth, but it was his overall play that elevated the team to a decisive victory.

Here’s a look at McDavid’s first of the night:

The give-and-go with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins kept the Utah defenders off balance, allowing McDavid to finish off the goal.

The Oilers captain seems to be heating up, as his two-goal effort now has him at three goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 11 games this season.

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday night as they host the New York Rangers at Rogers Place in what should be an entertaining matchup.
