The New York Rangers lost a tough 3-2 game against the Utah Mammoth on Saturday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The Blueshirts led 2-1 in the second, but the Mammoth scored two unanswered goals to end a four-game skid.

Nick DeSimone scored at the 7:32 mark of the third period to give the Mammoth a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish. Clayton Keller and JJ Peterka scored the other goal for Utah. Meanwhile, Vladislav Gavrikov scored his third of the year for the New York Rangers, with Artemi Panarin scoring his sixth in the losing effort.

Jonathan Quick made 31 saves for the Rangers in place of Igor Shesterkin.

So, here’s a look at the three least impressive New York Rangers players from their loss to the Utah Mammoth on Saturday night at the Delta Center.

#3 Taylor Raddysh

Taylor Raddysh had a tough-luck moment in the third period. The veteran forward blocked a point shot from DeSimone that, unfortunately, ricocheted off his legs and got past Quick for the go-ahead goal.

Here’s a look at the goal as shown on the Mammoth’s official X account:

Raddysh did the right thing by getting in the shooting lane. He blocked the shot, but it was just a bad break that the goal went in off a deflection. Beyond that, Raddysh had an unimpressive game, hitting the ice for 14:22 across 18 shifts. He failed to get a shot on goal during the game.

#2 Matthew Robertson

The New York Rangers blueliner had yet another rough outing. This time, Robertson and Scott Morrow had a bad showing. Robertson ended the night a minus-3 in a little over 14 minutes of ice time on 22 shifts. He did not get a shot on goal or a block.

But it was his role in the Mammoth’s first goal that illustrates the type of night it was. Here’s a look:

The sequence started with Robertson finishing a check along the boards, but then losing the puck. As he tried to get back into the play, he took a man in front of the net, but was unable to clear the traffic around him. From the mess, the point shot got through and was tapped home by Peterka to give the Mammoth the early lead.

#1 Scott Morrow

Scott Morrow has filled in on the Rangers’ blue line amid injuries. However, Morrow hasn’t quite been the answer the Rangers have been looking for. His turnover led to the Mammoth tying the game in the second period.

Check out the goal here:

Kailer Yamamoto picked up the errant pass and then dished to Clayton Keller at the side of the net. Robertson was unable to prevent Keller from roofing the puck past Quick. In the meantime, Morrow cross-checked Keller after the puck had gone in.

The Rangers will be looking to get back in the win column on Monday night as they host the St. Louis Blues. The Blueshirts will be looking to snap their four-game slide with a win at Madison Square Garden.
