With the trade deadline approaching, the Seattle Mariners could use another right-handed hitter.
Seattle's strong pitching rotation could help them acquire a replacement for Rob Refsnyder, who has struggled mightily at the plate.
One club that could be a logical trade partners with the Mariners is the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs need more starters, and the Mariners need a bat or two. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon mention right-handers Luis Castillo and Emerson Hancock as two potential trade fits for Chicago.
Who on the Cubs' roster could the Mariners have interest in return?
"The Chicago Cubs, who already have acquired left-hander David Peterson and righty Aaron Civale while trying to patch together their rotation, seemingly would be a team interested in Hancock," Rosenthal and Sammon wrote.
Three options for Mariners
The Athletic's duo listed three names to keep an eye on for the Mariners.
"Three Cubs right-handed hitters of varying experience – right fielder Seiya Suzuki, infielder/outfielder Matt Shaw and outfielder Kevin Alcántara – could appeal to the Mariners," they wrote.

Suzuki is the best option of the three hitters mentioned. He's hitting .270/.358/.478 with 17 home runs and a .837 OPS -- a major upgrade over Refsnyder.
Still, the Cubs are in contention and would likely require a sizeable trade package to part with Suzuki.
Shaw and Alcantara, both middling prospects who haven't quite lived up to the hype, would be more cost effective targets for Seattle.
