Anthony Edwards marries longtime girlfriend Shannon Jackson ahead of NBA season

Anthony Edwards is starting the NBA season as a husband.

During the Fanatics Fest last week, the Minnesota Timberwolves star sported a black band on his ring finger, which at first was assumed to be a fashion choice. Now, legal documents confirm that Edwards and his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, are now married.

According to the Minnesota Official Marriage System's website, per Minnesota Sports Fan, there is a certificate listed for Edwards and Jackson. The couple got married on July 16, 2026, in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

Edwards and Jackson have been together since 2020 when they first went public with their relationship.  The couple shares a 2-year-old daughter, Aislynn. The Timberwolves star also shares a daughter, Aubri, born in 2024, with Ayesha Howard.

According to Yahoo Sports, he reportedly shares daughter Aris, born in 2023, with Daja Carlyle and son Amir, also born the same year, with Alexandria Desroches.

Jackson has an older son, Krue, with rapper Chief Keef.

Edwards will be entering his seventh season with the Timberwolves, and not only will this season be different because he is now married, but he will be playing alongside LaMelo Ball. The former Charlotte Hornets star was traded back in June to the Timberwolves. During his introductory press conference, Ball said that he's ready to work with the Timberwolves star,

"I've known Ant for a minute," Ball told reporters. "We've been talking, everybody excited, we ready to get to work."
