The Premier League of Darts heads to Sheffield this week for Night 16, the last night of the league phase.

Before we head to The O2 in London next week for play-off night, there's still a lot of important action to take place this week, with seeding and prize money on the line.

Night 16 match predictions

Here are my predictions for a stacked slate on Night 16.

*Semifinals and final listed below are my predictions based on the quarterfinals

Quarterfinal #1: Luke Littler vs. Josh Rock

Winner: Luke Littler, 6-3

There isn't much for Rock to play for this week, except for the £10,000 night win bonus.

Since their first PDC match at Blackpool last July, Littler has won every match against Rock, with an overall record of 8-0.

They've played twice previously in this PL season, and Littler won both matches, one 6-4 and the other 6-3. Expect a similar scoreline this week.

Quarterfinal #2: Luke Humphries vs. Michael van Gerwen

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-4

This had the potential to be the match of the night, but Humphries went on to win the night last week, which ended van Gerwen's chance at qualifying for the play-off night.

It should still be an entertaining contest, as both players are in great form, but Humphries will be playing with more motivation, as he has the chance to finish 3rd on the table this week.

Finishing third in the league phase means Humphries could avoid playing Littler in the semifinal round on play-off night.

Quarterfinal #3: Jonny Clayton vs. Stephen Bunting

Winner: Stephen Bunting, 6-5

Bunting has picked up just two points in the last five weeks.

It was another underwhelming PL campaign for 'The Bullet', as he was one of two players to not hold a spot in the top four on the table at any point during the season (Rock was the other).

I do see Bunting ending the season strong, to try and bring some momentum into the summer with the Matchplay coming up, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him come away with a win this week.

Quarterfinal #4: Gerwyn Price vs. Gian van Veen

Winner: Gerwyn Price, 6-4

Price had just two points from week 10-14, and his play-off lead was shrinking fast.

Fortunately for him, he found some form last week, getting him three points and qualifying him for play-off night again.

If he shows up playing similarly to last week, I don't see him losing, considering van Veen hasn't been at his best in recent weeks.

Semifinal #1: Luke Littler vs. Luke Humphries

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-5

The two Lukes have already played seven times in the PL this year.

Even though Littler has won a majority of their clashes, most games end up requiring a last-leg decider, and after last week, it will probably happen again.

Humphries will look to beat him in back-to-back weeks and send a message ahead of a potential rematch in London next week.

Semifinal #2: Stephen Bunting vs. Gerwyn Price

Winner: Gerwyn Price, 6-4

Price seemed fired up after his run to the final in Birmingham last week, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him in another final with how the bracket is this week.

Bunting has only made it past the semifinal round once this PL season, and that was when he won the night in Belfast a few months ago.

Final: Luke Humphries vs. Gerwyn Price

Winner: Gerwyn Price, 6-5

This final would be a rematch of the one we saw last week.

It would be an important one as well, because both players would be even on points entering the match.

This means that whoever would win would play Clayton in the semifinals on play-off night, and the loser would play Littler in the semifinals.

I'll give it to Price this time around, as he'll also be searching to make a statement that he's ready to make a run next week for his first major title in a few years.

What's at stake?

We could see Humphries play Price in the final, but the main story either way is seeing who will finish higher than the other on the table at the end of the night.

This will ultimately set up the matches on play-off night, giving us an idea of what it will take for each player to win the 2026 Premier League Darts title.

A few players who have been eliminated from play-off night contention will still be fighting to finish as high as they can on the table, as there are financial rewards for that.

This could also play a very small role when it comes to the committee picking a lineup for next year's Premier League field, as finishing at the bottom doesn't always result in the best reaction from fans/media.
