With the Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Rising B1 expansion finally here, players can expect to see a massive change to the current "stagnant meta," especially thanks to the introduction of Mega Evolution to the digital space.

At the center of the release are Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria, each being the faces of three booster packs. The set debuts a huge lineup of 331 cards, making some of them highly competitively viable.

Here’s a look at the ten most impactful cards from the Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Rising expansion, ranked from great to game-changing.

10) Sitrus Berry

A simple yet effective Pokemon Tool, Sitrus Berry can make the difference in tight matches. It restores 30 HP at the end of a turn when the equipped Pokemon’s health drops below half, keeping your active Pokemon in play longer. It’s a great early-game tool for surviving pressure.

Indeedee ex stands out as a reliable support option in almost any deck. Its ability restores 20 HP to your active Pokemon each turn, helping you maintain board control. Its move, Psychic, deals 30 base damage plus an additional 30 for every Energy attached to the opponent’s Active Pokemon. Despite its modest damage output, Indeedee ex is an effective healer, especially for being a basic card.

8) Eevee

With its Boosted Evolution ability, Eevee can evolve immediately on the turn it’s played, even on the first turn of the game, as long as it’s in the Active Spot. This makes it extremely valuable in any Eeveelution-based deck, enabling players to set up powerful evolutions like Jolteon ex or Flareon ex almost instantly. Faster evolution applies early-game pressure.

Poison decks gain another addition with Dragalge ex. Its Draconic Whip attack inflicts a solid 80 damage for two Darkness Energy, but the real advantage lies in its ability. Whenever Dragalge ex takes damage while in the Active Spot, the attacking Pokemon becomes Poisoned, essentially providing a built-in Poison Barb. This ability steadily wears down opponents while freeing up your Pokemon Tool slot for other buffs.

Mega Ampharos ex offers Lightning Lancer, an attack that damages the opponent's Active Pokemon by 100 and requires three Lightning Energy. It also randomly targets one of the opponent's Benched Pokemon three times, dealing 20 damage each time, just like Dragonite. Even though its base damage isn't particularly high, Cyrus plays benefit greatly from the ability to distribute chip damage throughout the bench.

Mega Altaria ex may not be the flashiest card, but its Mega Harmony attack is quite rewarding if played strategically. Starting at 40 damage, the attack adds an extra 30 damage for each Pokemon on your opponent’s bench, maxing out at 130. It’s a flexible and consistent option with good bulk for a stage 2 card.

4) Jolteon ex

Jolteon ex is a strong competitor for the current meta. Its Mach Bolt attack dishes out a steady 80 damage for just two Lightning Energy. However, its real strength comes from the Electromagnetic Wall ability. While Jolteon ex remains Active, every time your opponent attaches an Energy to any of their card, they take 20 damage. This passive chip damage adds relentless pressure and can completely disrupt slower, energy-dependent decks.

Flame Patch is now a staple card for Fire-type decks now, that enhances energy acceleration. It allows you to attach a Fire Energy from your discard pile to your Active Fire Pokemon, a big advantage for decks that rely on frequent energy discards. Expect to see this card paired with older cards like Infernape ex and Flareon ex, as well as new entries like Mega Blaziken ex.

Mega Gyarados ex's Mega Blaster attack deals a huge 140 damage and forces the opponent to discard the top three cards of their deck. Though it requires four Energy to power up, the payoff is substantial, especially for players who prefer tempo and deck control strategies. With a formidable 210 HP, this card can tank hits while wearing down opponents’ resources every turn.
