Zohran Mamdani’s rally at Forest Hills Stadium with liberal darlings Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders sparked as many noise complaints in the neighborhood as a recent Phish concert at the venue, records show.
As many as 29 complaint calls were made to 311 during the rally for the mayoral candidate on Sunday — 12 of which were for the excessive sound.
The descriptions left by irritated neighbors ranged from “loud music” and “loud talking” to “loud party” and lasted until almost 9 p.m.
The number of complaints even exceeds those lodged by neighbors at one concert this summer, which was so loud that the stadium was slapped with violations from the city’s Department of Environmental Protection.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s show on Aug. 1 was one of 12 concerts to be issued a violation for exceeding the noise code, but it only racked up 10 complaints from neighbors on 311.
Three other concerts — Dr. Dog on June 21, Phish on July 23 and Above & Beyond on Sept. 5 — each racked up 12 noise complaints on 311, matching the same number as Mamdani’s “New York is Not For Sale” rally.
Those shows were not penalized by the DEP nor found to be in violation of the city’s noise code.
All of the complaints lodged during the Mamdani meeting were listed as “closed” the very same night, with the NYPD writing that it responded to each of the complaints “and took action to fix the condition.”
It was not immediately clear what action the officers took.
Mamdani’s campaign did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Noise wasn’t the only frustration for Forest Hills residents that night — the rally apparently led to plenty of illegal parking, with several drivers blocking fire hydrants and crosswalks.
Parking had been an issue before Mamdani and the others took the stage Sunday, with residents railing against a last-minute directive by the NYPD to remove their cars from the street to make room for the event.
The notice didn’t mention the ban was for the Mamdani get-out-the-vote event with Sen. Sanders and AOC.
The order further inflames tensions between locals and the city and the stadium.
A homeowner’s group, the Forest Hills Garden Corporation, filed a federal lawsuit against the city just last week, alleging that police “unconstitutionally” took control of private property on more than 30 concert days this summer to help the Forest Hills Stadium rake in millions of dollars.
The corporation and its nearly 4,000 members are seeking compensation for the alleged takeover.
