Zay Flowers injury update from Adam Schefter is bad news for Ravens WR's Week 2 status

The Baltimore Ravens have some issues at wide receiver and one of them centers around Zay Flowers.

After putting up a monster performance with five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, Flowers saw his Week 1 game end early due to injury.

Flowers is dealing with a hamstring issue, and that's particularly troubling because that was the same injury he was hampered with before the start of the season.

Zay Flowers injury update from Adam Schefter

ESPN's Adam Schefter was on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Monday and surmised that Flowers playing in Week 2 seems "unrealistic."

"With a hamstring, you miss a little bit of time," Schefter told McAfee.

"It doesn't sound overly serious, but, again, to think that he would be out there this week would probably be unrealistic."

Hard to argue with Schefter's sentiment here.

Even if Flowers is good enough to go, it's possible the Ravens will err on the side of caution and sit Flowers to make sure this issue doesn't continue to linger.

After all, this early in the season is the time to do it with 15 games left on the schedule after Week 2.

Ravens thin at wide receiver

The problem is that the Ravens will be dangerously thin at wide receiver.

Fellow wideout Ja'Kobi Lane suffered a fractured wrist in Week 1 and will miss several weeks, and Devontez Walker did not even play due to a groin injury. Walker's status remains uncertain.

The Ravens could be staring down the barrel of a receivers room that includes Rashod Bateman, LaJohntay Wester and Elijah Sarratt.

The problem with the latter two is their lack of experience.

Sarratt is a rookie and wasn't even active in Week 1, and Wester had just two catches in one game last season.

Safe to say, things are shaky in the wide receivers room in Baltimore.
