Country music superstar Zach Bryan has purchased a 179-year-old West Village townhouse, Gimme Shelter can exclusively reveal.
The Grammy-winning US Navy veteran shelled out $13 million for the historic home, sources said. It was last asking $15.75 million.
The 22-foot-wide red brick townhouse on tree-lined Hudson Street was built in 1847 and meticulously renovated.
“It’s a very well done, and very well-maintained home,” said a source who has toured the property.
The stunning 6,543-square-foot residence spans seven levels, including two below ground, and comes with four bedrooms, three baths and two powder rooms.
There’s also an additional 1,766 square feet of outdoor space with a garden, three terraces, plus a roof deck with views of the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center.
The seller bought the residence for $9.9 million in 2013 — from JLow LLC, which paid $2.8 million for the home in 2010. While “JLow” echoes the name of Malaysian fugitive Jho Low, architect of a $4.5 billion 1MDB sovereign wealth fund fraud, there is no evidence that the property was ever connected to him, according to US government officials.
The home, which was first renovated by architect Andrew Franz, underwent an additional renovation by Jonathan Schloss Architects. It also includes a ground-floor commercial space that had served as the now-shuttered Michelin-starred eatery Piora, as well as the Leroy House, another restaurant that has since closed.
Design details inside the townhouse include an elevator, reclaimed antique oak floors, a Lutron lighting and shading system, floor-to-ceiling windows, a working gas fireplace, plus radiant heated floors in select areas.
It’s all anchored by a white chef’s kitchen with a breakfast bar, and stairs in the background.
The listing brokers were Nicole Palermo and Ryan Serhant, of Serhant, and Brock Emmetsberger of Matthews Real Estate Investment Services.
