Xreal announced its Aura Android XR glasses back in June, when it started taking reservations for them. Today, those who hold a reservation can move to the next step and place a pre-order for a pair, starting with the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea. More regions will get this option soon.
The glasses cost $1,279 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or $1,499 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The glasses have an Optical See-Through (OST) display with a 70-degree field of view, courtesy of two Sony Micro-OLED panels with 1920x1200 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
The displays are transparent so you can see the real world, but you can also engage electrochromic dimming if you want to only focus on what's on the screen. Since they run Android XR, they come with Google's Gemini built-in. The glasses weigh less than 95g but use a puck to house the 4,455 mAh battery, as well as a built-in trackpad and fingerprint sensor. They are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chip.
