The New York Yankees may be getting one of their All-Stars back in the lineup soon.
Left fielder Cody Bellinger has been out since July 25 with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.
The former MVP with the Los Angeles Dodgers is on the mend. He's done light baseball activities to this point, but The Athletic's Chris Kirschner reports that Bellinger will begin a rehab assignment later this week.
"Cody Bellinger will begin his rehab assignment on Thursday in Scranton," Kirschner wrote on X. "Believes he'll do at least one more game after that, but still undetermined."
Bellinger suffered the injury while stretching a single into a double during a series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Before the injury, the 31-year-old hit .259/.350/.420 with 11 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .770 OPS. Bellinger has accumulated 3.9 bWAR following a 5.0 bWAR in 2025.
The Yankees have been one of the worst offensive clubs in the Majors without Bellinger, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton.
Bellinger is just one piece of the puzzle, but having him back in the lineup should boost New York's offensive output.
