The New York Yankees have been struggling on both sides of the ball during their current five-game losing streak.
Their best defensive unit includes Trent Grisham in center field and Ryan McMahon at third base.
But both players are on the IL. Grisham has missed a few weeks with a mild hamstring strain, and McMahon has been dealing with an ear and throat infection.
Of course, the most significant injuries to New York's lineup are Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
Both players will be returning to the Yankees' lineup soon, per an announcement on Talkin' Yanks from manager Aaron Boone.
"Aaron Boone tells us Trent Grisham and Ryan McMahon will play rehab games with Somerset tomorrow, then will be activated on Friday," Talkin' Yanks wrote on X.
The Yankees begin a three-game series with the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.
Before his injury, Grisham hit .232/.341/.406 with eight home runs and a .747 OPS. The left-handed hitter has drawn walks (14.4%) at an elite rate.
McMahon hasn't impressed in the batter's box, hitting .210/.269/.360 with eight homers and a .629 OPS. He's managed three outs above average at the hot corner this season.
