Yankees plan for Aaron Judge amid injury return is one fans might not like

The New York Yankees are finally getting Aaron Judge back in the lineup on Tuesday night. After a very long time spent on the injured list, missing all of June, July, and August, Judge is finally coming back.

He'll suit up for the Yankees on Tuesday night against the Colorado Rockies in New York as the 81-62 Yankees try to make up the 4.0-game deficit to the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East.

But, according to Aaron Boone on the Talkin' Yanks podcast, the plan for Judge is one fans might not like. Instead of bringing him back and playing him in full, Judge will be subbed out early in games as he works towards a full nine-inning return.

"Aaron Boone says Yankees fans should expect Aaron Judge to be eased back in and be subbed out early in some games before playing a full nine innings," Talkin' Yanks shared.

This is a little bit of a worrying update for the Yankees and Judge. If he's not ready to play a full nine-inning game, which is the case here since Boone plans to sub him out mid-game, regardless of the score, then it's proof Judge isn't 100% ready yet.

While getting Judge back, even if only for part of the game, is a much better situation than where they were for a while, this is still not an ideal situation.

The Yankees need to make sure they're not rushing Judge back, as bringing him back now and risking injury or a setback would be a disastrous outcome for the Yankees.

Considering how much this offense has struggled this season, the Yankees cannot afford to go into the postseason without Judge. That's why this return plan is a bit worrying.

If Judge is not ready to play a full game, he's clearly not at 100% just yet.w A rehab assignment normally would be used, but the Yankees have decided to give Judge his rehab assignment in the Major Leagues with half-games.

Hopefully, this return plan for Judge is just a precaution and not actually a problem for the superstar outfielder. Otherwise, this return plan could wind up being a major mistake.
