The New York Yankees picked up their eighth straight win with the help of an 8-3 win against the Houston Astros on Saturday at Daikin Park. They swept the Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox back-to-back before picking up another series win on the road with a game to go.
The Yankees' offense has been a major reason behind this winning streak. That was true on Saturday as well.
Yankees ace Ryan Weathers gave up an RBI single to Isaac Paredes in the bottom of the first inning. The Yankees tied the game in the third with the help of Trent Grisham's solo home run, his fourth long ball this season. Their lead extended to 2-1 when Jose Caballero pulled Mike Burrows for his third home run of the season.
Astros' Carlos Correa tied the scores with a solo shot off Weathers in the sixth. Yankees reliever Fernando Cruz put a stop to the Astros' offense by striking out Yainer Diaz, stranding runners at first and second and saving Weathers from earning some runs to his name.
In the top of the seventh, Austin Wells hit the go-ahead home run against Astros reliever Kai-Wei Teng. With bases loaded, Cody Bellinger drove in a run by grinding out a walk against Bennett Sousa. Jazz Chisholm Jr. joined the party with another RBI walk for the Yankees to make it a 5-2 game.
Ben Rice's sac-fly in the eighth added another run. Wells and Ryan McMahon drove in two more runs in the ninth, bringing down the walls on the Astros.
Given the duty to protect five runs, Tim Hill gave up a solo home run to Christian Walker before sealing off the Yankees' 8-3 win.

Yankees looking to sweep Astros on the road
The Yankees will face off in the series finale on Sunday. Aaron Judge's team has already secured two victories and will look to travel to Texas with supreme confidence.
The Yankees are expected to send Luis Gil to the mound. The right-hander is 1-1 with a 4.11 ERA this season. Astros ace Spencer Arrighetti will rival him from the other end.
After this series, the Yankees have another road series against the Texas Rangers as they look to capitalize on their strong offense these days.
