Yankees' ex-slugger Joey Gallo is still attempting MLB comeback as a pitcher

Joey Gallo hasn't given up yet.

In the spring, the former Yankees and Rangers slugged announced that he'd be trying to make an MLB comeback as a pitcher.

There hadn't been much news on that front since, but on Friday, Nov. 21, Gallo dropped a social media video of him throwing off a mound.

No caption, no view of home plate, just a big fella showing off three pitches from a mound.

It's hard to glean any real information here, but the implication is that Gallo hasn't given up on his pitching journey yet.

Gallo hit 208 home runs in his MLB career that also included the White Sox and Dodgers, but now the 6-foot-5 athlete is focusing on this new task.

He's certainly an towering presence on the mound.

Gallo was a stud pitcher in high school at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. He threw a no-hitter as a senior and was the Nevada Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year that year, too.

His Perfect Game profile from those days said that high school Gallo had a fastball up to 94 miles per hour, along with "a changeup with fading action."

Is that the stuff Gallo still possesses? Maybe if he had somebody stand behind the mound with the camera and a radar gun, we'd have a better idea of if this comeback has any real chance.
