BALTIMORE — Carlos Carrasco has been around the big leagues long enough that when he first broke in, Aaron Boone and Brad Ausmus were just finishing up their playing careers.

Sixteen years later, of course, Boone and Ausmus are in the Yankees dugout watching Carrasco pitch every five days to try to help keep the injury-riddled Yankees rotation afloat.

Through five starts, Carrasco has been inconsistent, alternating solid and rough outings.

What has not been inconsistent, though, is the 38-year-old’s willingness to adapt and adjust to whatever the Yankees throw his way.
