Yankees' Aaron Judge ties Mark McGwire's incredible home run record in MLB history

Aaron Judge, as usual, is keeping good company.

This time, though, the New York Yankees' superstar's latest record-tying feat draws in a historic slugger from outside the famed organization.

Judge slugged a first-inning homer on Monday night. It was his 11th home run in the first inning this season.

And that's tied for the most through a team's first 78 games in MLB history with St. Louis Cardinals legend Mark McGwire, according to Baseball Reference's Katie Sharp.

McGwire actually accomplished the feat in 2000, not in his 1998 70-homer season.

It's yet another brilliant accomplishment for Judge.

Clearly, pitchers need to be a bit more careful when Judge strolls up for his first at bat of the game. Talk about consistently setting the tone.

Judge is up to 28 homers overall. Of course, the first inning will be when he hits the most out of any inning, but it's still amazing that 39% of his homers have come in the opening frame.

And on one would bet against him leaving the yard a few more times in the opening stanza as the season rolls along.
