The New York Yankees kicked off a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday. The Yankees hold on to first place in the American League East after winning six of the last seven games, so things are going well in the Bronx.
On the other hand, the Yankees have a flurry of question marks on the injury front, which is not encouraging news at this point in the season.
Ahead of the series against the Guardians, Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave a lengthy update on numerous players, courtesy of Brendan Kuty of The Athletic.
That is a lot to unpack from the Yankees manager, but there are some positives to examine. Giancarlo Stanton, who hasn't played yet this year, is hitting and running.
Ben Rice, who was hit by a pitch on Saturday, left that game early and missed Sunday's game. But, Boone said he is "hopeful" he could be an option.
Prior to the game, Rice showed no signs of concern as he blasted a home run during batting practice.
