WWE star promises to "take everything" from Carmelo Hayes

A WWE star has promised to take everything from Carmelo Hayes. Melo won the United States championship after beating Ilja Dragunov this week on SmackDown. The win marked Hayes' first title on the main roster.

In a backstage interview, Hayes expressed his delight at winning the gold, but his promo was cut short by an attack from Johnny Gargano. The DIY member said Hayes ruined everything before Candice LeRae took him away from the scene.

Now after the show, Gargano reposted a video from WWE on X (Twitter) and sent a warning to the newly crowned champion.

"He knows what he's done, and now I will take everything from him. Like he did to me," he posted.

Hayes has been feuding with DIY for some time on SmackDown. The tag team cost him his earlier opportunity against Dragunov on December 5 after Tommaso Ciampa interfered in the match.

The following week saw the former NXT star team up with the Mad Dragon to take on DIY and emerge victorious. With Gargano attacking him backstage, it looks like the tension between the two sides is far from over.

Carmelo Hayes thanked Ilja Dragunov after title win

Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov tore the house down as they competed for the United States championship on SmackDown.

The match went over 20 minutes, with both stars trying to gain the upper hand through some innovative offense. The finish of the contest came when Melo countered a coast-to-coast attempt from Dragunov into a First 48, followed by a Nothing but Net, to become the new champion.

After the match, when asked about his feelings, he said he was delayed but not denied. He then thanked Dragunov for elevating the U.S. title as well as him during their matches. Hayes said the division is on notice before Gargano blindsided him with the attack.
