WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri recently revealed a personal conversation she had with John Cena. The GOAT has retired from in-ring competition.
After a year-long retirement tour, John Cena wrestled in his final match against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, 2025. However, before his last outing inside the ring, Cena took time out from his busy schedule to visit the WWE Performance Center, Bayley's wrestling seminar, and Natalya's Dungeon, where he shared his knowledge with young stars.
During a recent interview on The Wrestling Classic, the host asked Maxxine Dupri if she got any advice from John Cena before his retirement. The current WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion revealed that she indeed received advice from The Chain Gang Soldier.
Dupri shared that Cena told her to make the most of every moment she gets on television and try to make it different from what everyone else is doing. The Alpha Academy star also mentioned that it was "really cool" to receive advice from "the actual GOAT" of WWE.
"Oh my gosh, I did actually because you know as the two Intercontinental Champions... You know he was extremely kind to me, and I also got to attend a seminar at The Dungeon... I feel like I got such great advice from him about truly doing what we've seen Chelsea do. Make the most of every moment, no matter what happens. Take it and run with it. How can you be different? How can you be creative? How can you think outside the box? Umm, and once you have the fundamentals, how do you grow from there? And that was a really cool conversation to have with the actual GOAT," she said.Check out her full interview below:
John Cena's former rival talked about his last WWE match
During a recent edition of UNLIKELY with Adrian Hernandez, John Cena's former rival, The Miz, said that Cena's clash with Gunther at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event was the "perfect last match" for The GOAT.
The A-Lister added that he believed the 17-time World Champion tapping out to The Ring General was the most important thing, as it elevated the latter's heel character.
"That match with Gunther; it was everything you wanted it to be. It was the perfect last match for John Cena, the perfect foil for his baby face. And to see him, some people say he was smiling, I don't know. It looked kind of like a grimace to me. And then him to finally giving up to a person like Gunther, and then to watch Gunther come out on Monday, that's what I wanted to see. That's the number one thing I wanted to see," The Miz said.Although John Cena will no longer compete inside the ring, he will still be a brand ambassador for WWE.
