A current WWE star has issued a public apology following his actions in recent months. He also addressed his surprising appearance on SmackDown nearly two months ago.

Josh Briggs is one of the most exciting prospects in NXT. He made a shocking appearance on the September 26 episode of SmackDown in Orlando, Florida. He kept an eye on Je'Von Evans, who failed to beat Sami Zayn for the United States Championship.

Briggs would attack Evans at ringside with a massive clothesline ahead of their match at NXT No Mercy the following night. Since that incident happened, the 32-year-old WWE prospect has had mixed results on television. He has a win over Matt Cardona, but he lost to Evans and El Grande Americano.

In a post on Instagram, Josh Briggs sarcastically apologized for his actions over the past two months. Briggs also shared photos from his dark match in an episode of RAW against Erik of The Viking Raiders.

"Sorry Bout That #ManOfMayhem #BigStepper," Briggs wrote.

Josh Briggs is currently in a storyline with Tavion Heights, who cost him his match against El Grande Americano last Tuesday. Heights distracted the referee, which allowed Rayo and Bravo Americano to hit a double backcracker on Briggs.

El Grande then applied a new hold on Briggs, who immediately tapped out.

Josh Briggs has been with WWE since 2020

Before getting signed by WWE, Josh Briggs was the reigning Evolve Champion. The company bought Evolve and absorbed Briggs' contract in August 2020. He made his NXT debut nearly a year later as part of the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament.

Briggs slowly began his ascent to the NXT ladder through an excursion at Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan. He began teaming up with Yoshiki Inamura, but they failed to win any tag team gold.

The 32-year-old star turned heel in July, attacking his former partner. He's still trying to find his footing as a bad guy and find the right character for him. He did make his main roster debut in a dark match on October 27 in a losing effort against Erik, as per Cagematch.
