While having a time away from the greens these days, the six-time major champion became more active on social media, particularly on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He is known for sharing posts related to golf, environmental issues, and politics.

On Sunday, Fetterman shared a long post on his X account, revealing that after forty days of consistent voice against shutting down the government, he voted yes to reopen. He wrote:

"After 40 days as a consistent voice against shutting our government down, I voted YES for the 15th time to REOPEN. I’m sorry to our military, SNAP recipients, gov workers, and Capitol Police who haven’t been paid in weeks. It should’ve never come to this. This was a failure."

Phil Mickelson reshared his post on his X account with a one-word message. He wrote:

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson still has time to return to the greens. The new LIV Golf season will start in February 2026, and till then, he has a good time to enjoy while away from the field. The 2025 season concluded in August.

On Sunday, political commentator Gunther Eagleman shared a video of Sen. Bernie Sanders on his X (formerly Twitter) account. In the caption of the post, he wrote:

"HOLY CRAP! Bernie Sanders is GOING ALL OUT on the Democrats voting to reopen the government. This is EPIC. So much for crazy Bernie being a Happy Warrior"

Phil Mickelson reacted to it, sharing his opinion. He wrote:

"The extreme left and extreme right need to be disregarded. They are going to vote a certain way and are not open to logic and reason.The middle left and right need to work together and find compromise. No need to even engage the extreme on both sides, it’s a waste of time."

A fan then asked the former PGA Tour pro if he was planning to run for office. The fan wrote:

"Are you planning on running for office?"

Mickelson reacted to him with a one-word message. He wrote:

"No," he wrote.

Phil Mickelson isn't shy to express his opinion on political matters on his X account. He has around 959.6 K followers on social media.

Meanwhile, on the field this season in the LIV Golf, he skipped the season opener in Riyadh but then played in Adelaide and settled in T23 place.

He was settled in solo third in Hong Kong and T19 in Singapore, some of his notable finishes this season. He also had a solo sixth in Miami, T4 in Virginia, T25 in Chicago, and T40 in Indianapolis.
