Veteran wrestling writer Vince Russo believes AEW could stand to gain from a trade with WWE. He feels AJ Styles could be traded to Tony Khan in exchange of an equal star.
AJ Styles has confirmed that 2026 will be his final year in wrestling. The star claimed that he wanted to spend more time with his family and avoid the embarrassment of not being able to perform in the ring.
During this week's episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran writer noted that WWE should get a fresh face in a major trade. He felt that the company would benefit from a new star joining their ranks. Russo pointed out that Edge, aka Adam Copeland's, contract is a developing situation, and possibly he could show up at WWE.
"Let WWE get somebody back that would be fresh to the company. A fresh face, equal value to AJ Styles. Let AJ go over there. WWE loses nothing from that. You know what they're going to do. It's gonna be a year of good matches. I'd rather have a fresh talent. Give me somebody of equal value. Whatever Copeland's situation is, whether it's contract expired, whatever. It could be anybody. Let's see a legitimate trade. I don't know how that would hurt WWE when more than anything, bro, they need fresh blood."Did The Rock's "Final Boss" run hurt WWE? Watch Here!
Russo suggested that The Phenomenal One could face Samoa Joe and other stars on the roster.
"I really think it would help both companies. Tony could have AJ. AJ could do a program with Samoa Joe. There's a million people he could work with over there and WWE gets a nice new, fresh talent that they could start over with. These are things that need to happen in wrestling, bro."AJ Styles and Dragon Lee are the World Tag Team Champions. They defeated Finn Balor and JD McDonagh last week on RAW to win the titles.
