A new report suggested that WWE is not that invested in a major title on SmackDown. The promotion is on the road to Survivor Series 2025 later this month at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

Sean Ross Sapp responded to a question on the latest Fightful Select Answers regarding the Women's United States Championship. Giulia dropped the title to Chelsea Green this past Friday night on WWE SmackDown.

Sapp shared that the company "never really had a plan nor really cared" about the Women's United States Championship. He stated that the decision was made to introduce the title because Green and Michin had a great feud without a title on the line. It was also stated that the Women's United States Championship was added without "significant creative plans" by the company.

Green became the inaugural Women's United States Champion by defeating Michin in the finals of a tournament at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, 2024. She had an impressive reign with the title before dropping it to Zelina Vega earlier this year.

Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green recently issued a challenge to John Cena ahead of his in-ring retirement.

The Cenation leader will be competing in his final bout at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13. It was announced earlier today by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce that the 48-year-old would be kicking off tomorrow night's episode of RAW.

Green took to social media earlier this week to suggest that she square off against Cena before the legend retired from in-ring competition.

"Adding this to my Presidential Agenda. Chelsea vs Johnny Boy," wrote Green.

Ethan Page and Chelsea Green are currently in an alliance on NXT, and the duo recently captured the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships together. Green is also in an alliance with Alba Fyre on WWE SmackDown, and Piper Niven used to be in the group, but she is currently out of action with an injury. It will be fascinating to see how long Chelsea Green can hold onto the Women's United States Championship moving forward on WWE SmackDown.
