Gunther has been on a rampage lately and is public enemy #1 in the WWE Universe after making John Cena tap out and then bragging about it. WWE once again teased The Ring General retiring a 48-year-old legend after taunting him earlier this week.

Gunther received a lot of hatred, and it has been a continuous stream that has been flowing ever since last Saturday, when he made John Cena tap out in a heartbreaking end to the legend's career. Now that Cena's retirement run has officially come to an end, things will move on as they must, and in the process, The Ring General will continue to establish himself as one of WWE's biggest stars of this generation.
Following a segment where Gunther had a confrontation with Rey Mysterio and his SummerSlam 2025 opponent, CM Punk, The Ring General was spotted backstage, where he confronted AJ Styles again and teased retiring him. If you recall, not only is AJ Styles going to retire in 2026, but WWE had a segment between them this past week on RAW where the Austrian star mocked John Cena and The Phenomenal One.
It's going to be interesting to see what 2026 looks like for AJ Styles. For now, he is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with Dragon Lee and is set to face The Usos nine days from now on the December 29th episode of RAW, which presumably won't be pre-taped.
Either way, fans are going to be emotional once again as Styles is set to complete an entire decade in the WWE - which is quite surreal to think about. Perhaps this could be the direction to end it all.
