A WWE legend disclosed that his AEW run made him question his decision to stay in wrestling. He also opened up on his decision to leave Tony Khan's promotion.

The WWE legend, Matt Hardy opened up on his AEW run. Matt joined All Elite Wrestling in 2020 after spending decades in the wrestling business. Later in 2022, he was joined by his brother, Jeff Hardy, as The Hardy Boyz reunited in the company. However, the legendary tag team's run in Tony Khan's promotion turned out to be underwhelming to say the least.

The duo eventually decided to leave the Jacksonville-based promotion last year and later returned to TNA. Meanwhile, Matt Hardy revealed his thought process during the underwhelming AEW run.

Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt disclosed that he didn't feel he loved wrestling during his AEW run. Hardy also revealed that he and Jeff hardy found the love for wrestling again after joining TNA:

“During those times in AEW, there were times where both myself and Jeff—especially me when I was there and I wouldn't really do anything—it just made me question like, ‘Why am I still doing this?’ I love this, but it kind of doesn't feel like something I love right now. Ultimately, what we need to do was leave and go to TNA. And then we found that again. And I am as much in love with the business as I have ever been this year,” Matt said. [H/T Wrestling Headlines]

WWE legend on his retirement plans

The WWE legend, Matt Hardy also revealed what The Hardy Boyz would like to do for their retirement from wrestling. In the same podcast, Matt said that he and Jeff Hardy would like to be inducted into the Hall of Fame both in TNA and the Stamford-based promotion:

“I think we would like to do something proper to wind things down. And we’ve said this a couple of times, and then maybe off into the sunset and do the Hall of Fame. I would want to do the TNA and the WWE Hall of Fame and I think Jeff would as well.” [H/T Wrestling Headlines]

The Hardys are currently the TNA World Tag Team Champions, and only time will tell what the future has in store for the duo.
