The World Series shifts to Tampa Bay, and the pressure is on the Rays, who are looking to bounce back after falling into an 0-2 hole against the Brewers.
The Rays know that history is not on their side, as no team in the World Series has rallied from an 0-2 deficit since the New York Yankees in 1996, when they came back to beat the Braves.
As Tampa Bay looks to get back in the series, they'll hand the ball to Game 3 starter Freddy Peralta, who spent the first eight years of his career with the Brewers. According to Elias, Peralta’s 162 starts for Milwaukee are the third-most by a pitcher before starting against that team in the World Series.
The Brewers, meanwhile, look to stay red hot in the postseason. They've won seven straight games, which includes their NLCS sweep of the Dodgers. If the Brewers sweep the Rays, they'd become the first club since the LCS became a best-of-seven in 1985 to sweep the LCS and World Series.
Robert Gasser starts for the Brewers in Game 3. Before this season, he had just seven total appearances in the majors, but he has a 1.00 ERA this postseason. He'll face what will be an electric crowd in St. Petersburg — a crowd that likely will feature a large contingent of Brewers fans, too.
