Thursday's play began with Spain cruising to an impressive win over Austria. Mikel Oyarzabal scored twice in a convincing victory for La Roja.

Next up is Portugal vs. Croatia, the winner of which will face Spain in the next round. The day's play finishes with Switzerland taking on Algeria in Vancouver.

World Cup matches yesterday

First up, England survived a scare against DR Congo, emerging 2-1 thanks to the heroics of Harry Kane. In the afternoon, Belgium and Senegal squared off in Seattle, with Belgium overcoming a two-goal deficit to secure a spot in the Round of 16. The Belgians will take on the victor of this evening's USA vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina match, which takes place in Santa Clara.
