It's official — the 2026 Women's College World Series final will be a rematch of 2025. Texas and Texas Tech will go head-to-head in a three game series starting Wednesday.
Though Texas had a rough pathway through this year's WCWS, the program's dream of back-to-back titles is still alive and well. After a 6-3 loss to Tennessee to open their World Series campaign, the Longhorns battled through the losers' bracket and ended up defeating the Lady Vols twice to clinch a spot in the championship final.
In similar fashion, Texas Tech fell into the losers' bracket after a defeat from Tennessee, but the Red Raiders defeated Mississippi State and UCLA in elimination matchups to stay alive. Tech then pulled off an upset, sweeping No. 1 seed Alabama in two games to continue onto the national stage once again.
Who will hoist the trophy in the end?
