The 2025 WNBA season continues to drum along, spotlighted by star performances, both on an individual and team basis. The Lynx have impressed, climbing up the ranks off the back of strong displays by Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams, Alanna Smith, and, most notably, Napheesa Collier.
The Dream and Mercury have also put forth standout showings in 2025, aided by a slew of new additions. One can never count out the Liberty, the defending league champions, and while the Fever have been felled by injuries — including nagging groin trouble for star guard Caitlin Clark — they continue to glide near the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
All of that is to say there's plenty left to play for in the W calendar. General managers know it, too, flooding phone lines as the trade deadline approaches.
Struggling sides like the Sun, Sky, and Wings all look likely to part ways with their best talents. Meanwhile, the likes of Minnesota and New York could do well with adding to their corps. It could prove the difference between hoisting a league title beneath a pour of confetti and ambling to the locker room in tears.
