The Atlanta Falcons haven't had wide receiver Drake London on the field for four straight games now.
London suffered a PCL strain in Week 11 and hasn't played or practiced since then. The Falcons have been in no rush to get him back, either, as the team is out of playoff contention.
As we turn the page to Week 16, here's what we know about London's chances of returning to the field for the Falcons on Sunday.
Will Drake London return this week?
When asked about London's status for Week 16, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said he's "very hopeful" his top wide receiver will return.
“Obviously, got to get to the practice week. I’m very hopeful he can go out there and play for us," Morris said, per The Athletic's Josh Kendall.
We would say London has a better chance to return than not given the fact that he was not placed on injured reserve, which means the Falcons didn't expect him to miss more than three games.
Of course, London has now missed four in a row, but we also have to remember that the Falcons had a short week in Week 15, so that could've played a role in London's absence and maybe he would have been available on a normal week.
London has also been day-to-day for multiple weeks now, so he appears to be very close to a return, although his lack of participation in practice last week was not a great sign for him.
The Falcons do have a decision to make in terms of whether or not to even bring London back. After all, the Falcons are out of playoff contention and might opt to avoid risking London getting hurt again and potentially impacting next season.
That said, Morris might be fighting for his job over the final three weeks of the season, so it stands to reason he'll want his best player out there.
We'll get our next update on London on Wednesday, when the Falcons release their first injury report of the week. Even a limited practice would be a good sign for London's chances of suiting up.
