A Palo Alto home was widely mocked online for its claim of being “imbued with Ivy League auras” — but the storm of scorn led to it being the most popular listing of 2025 on one prominent real estate website.

The listing for the California property included a now-viral boast that all of the owners’ children had gotten into Ivy League universities, triggering a buzz of ridicule that saw it gain nearly 35,000 views on Redfin.com in a single day, SF GATE first reported.

The 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom sold in March 2025 for $5.6 million – $712,000 over its original asking

“Since its 2017 rebuild, every owner’s children have gone on to Harvard or Stanford, paving the way for even greater achievements,” the listing page read.

The listing drew online mockery for its claim that previous owners kids went to Ivy League schools

The 3717 Ortega Court address was crowned the most popular on the real estate and rental listings website last year.

The home was rebuilt in 2017.

It sold in March for a whopping $5.6 million — $712,000 over its original asking price of $4.8 million.
