Wicked: For Good expands the musical saga set in the Land of Oz, with Elphaba and Glinda. This film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, acts as a sequel to the film Wicked (2024) and is a loose film adaptation of the original 2003 Broadway musical second act by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman.

The music, which is entirely composed by Stephen Schwartz, not only keeps the on-stage production's legacy alive but is also sung by the ensemble cast, which features Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, and Ethan Slater.

The main photography of both films started in England in December 2022, was interrupted during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, and finished in January 2024. Wicked: For Good is going to be released in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 4, 2025, prior to its official U.S. release on November 21, 2025.

What‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is Wicked: For Good about?

Wicked: For Good is a continuation of the story of the 2024 movie Wicked. The new story is built around Elphaba Thropp, a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West, who secretly roams the streets and carries out a campaign for animal rights.

Contrarily, Glinda Upland, i.e., Glinda the Good, has gained a lot of fame during the Wizard's and Madame Morrible's supervision. The two ladies struggle with the aftermath of their previous actions and, thereby, their friendship and beliefs get even more deeply tested.

The movie plot is also revolving around the arrival of Dorothy Gale from Kansas, whose coming to Oz is the cause of the turning point of the kingdom's future.

Wicked: For Good's ensemble cast, includes Cynthia Erivo playing the role of Elphaba Thropp, a green-skinned misunderstood woman who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and Ariana Grande in the part of Glinda Upland, the Good Witch of the North.

Jonathan Bailey is back as Fiyero Tigelaar, a Winkie prince and the Wizard's Guard captain, while Jeff Goldblum also resumes his character as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Additionally, Marissa Bode is cast as Nessarose Thropp, the handicapped sister of Elphaba, Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman, and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. Apart from that, Peter Dinklage as Doctor Dillamond, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, Sharon D. Clarke as Dulcibear, and Colman Domingo as Brrr the Cowardly Lion are the voices for the respective characters.

Keala Settle, Adam James, Alice Fearn, and Kerry Ellis are the ones who are coming back from the first film and Broadway/West End with Kerry Ellis, feature, as a cameo.
