Former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel called Bill Belichick a "hypocrite" over the coach’s highly publicized relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson. Speaking to TMZ Sports on Saturday, Samuel said the situation is ironic, considering the strict standards Belichick enforced during their time together in New England.

“Coach is being a hypocrite, man,” Samuel said. “He’s been a hypocrite the way he’s carrying on. He told us to stay off and don't have family distractions and things like that.”

Belichick’s “Do Your Job” motto is a well-known one. The players were always encouraged to keep their lives free from anything that could distract or derail their focus. But with Belichick now in headlines for his relationship with Hudson, Samuel says the contrast is impossible to ignore.

“Coach got all this stuff going on! Coach, where did this come from? Why wasn’t we able to enjoy ourselves like this now that you want to enjoy yourself!” Samuel added.

The change may be attributed to the change from leading in the NFL to the college football world at UNC. Samuel made it clear he isn’t criticizing Belichick’s happiness, only the inconsistency.

“Whatever that looks like, just be happy,” he said. “Find happiness. If it's gonna be a little embarrassing, and you don't mind, the other person doesn't mind, and y'all are happy together and it's authentic, I mean, go with it.”

Bill Belichick shuts down NFL coaching rumors, reaffirms commitment to UNC football

Bill Belichick has firmly ended speculation about a possible NFL return, saying he remains fully committed to North Carolina football. After the New York Giants parted ways with Brian Daboll, reports linked Belichick to the vacancy, but the UNC coach dismissed the rumors directly.

In a statement on Instagram, Belichick acknowledged his history with the Giants, where he won two Super Bowls as defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells.

“I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families,” Belichick wrote.

However, he made his stance clear.

“I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies,” Belichick added.

Belichick emphasized that his focus remains on the Tar Heels.

“I'm focused on Wake Forest,” he said at a press conference. “That’s it. That’s my commitment to this team.”

UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham also denied any possibility of Belichick leaving, reinforcing their joint commitment. At 73, Bill Belichick is intent on building a competitive long-term program in Chapel Hill.
