Why Tyrese Haliburton’s stunning gf is the one being called ‘GOAT’

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton’s miracle shot in Game 1 against the New York Knicks will be talked about for years to come — but his stunning girlfriend, Jade Jones, is the one being called “GOAT” online.

And she has her boyfriend of six years to thank. Sort of.

The NBA Eastern Conference finals are not going the way the Knicks would like, including two losses — including Game 1, when they blew a 9-point lead with a minute to go. The Pacers won in overtime, but everyone’s talking about one thing: Haliburton’s score that stunned everyone. His ball bounced off the rim and shot straight up in the air before gravity took over, bringing it straight down.

Nothing but net.

“Finally got to see the ball drop in NYC,” wrote Jones wrote on Instagram on Thursday, May 22. The post — which she accented with a mischievous emoji — has since gone viral.

“Elite caption,” wrote one fan, one of many to refer to the common term for an NBA player showing exceptional skill. “That’s the best caption I’ve seen in awhile!!” concurred another.

“This caption is the GOAT!!” mic dropped another, one of many. The comments section is filled with similar comments and goat, fire and chef’s kiss emojis.

Jones published an innocent-looking photo of her looking prim and proper in a button-down cardigan with her shady caption. The carousel post also included a photo and video of her running to hug her man after the game. She has updated her Stories since then, but has let her viral “ball drop” post stay as her most recent feed share.

Haliburton and Jones met Iowa State students, according to an article in People that was updated on May 23. He, of course, was on the basketball team. She was a cheerleader.
