Why the New York Giants going 0-17 is a real possibility

The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys entered the day with a 0-1 record. The loser of this game would drop to 0-2 on the season.

Dallas won the game over the New York 40-37 in overtime as time expired. With the win for the Cowboys, they improve to 1-1 on the season and the Giants drop to 0-2 on the season. This was a week that the offense was humming for the Giants and a horrible week for the defense. Last week, the offense did nothing, and the defense was a little better. With the loss, is there a chance that the Giants could be 0-17 this season?

New York Giants Schedule Doesn't Get Easier and 0-17 Stares Them in the Face

With the Giants being 0-2 once again to start the 2025 season, is there a chance that New York will win a game anytime soon? Well, they will face the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers the next two weeks. Both teams made the playoffs last season, and both of those teams are far better than the Giants.

Going 0-4 in the first four weeks is a real possibility and this will signal another season being over already for this franchise before the month of October begins. In Week 5, the Giants will then face the New Orleans Saints. This could be a game that the Giants could potentially win. The Saints have not looked so bad in the first two weeks of the season.

If New York were to lose that game and drop to 0-5, good luck in finding a win in 2025 for the Giants on the schedule. They have to play the Philadelphia Eagles twice, Washington, and Dallas once more. The Giants were 0-6 in the NFC East divisional play last season and are already 0-2 this season. If the Giants go 0-6 once in divisional play once again this year, it is obvious that they are not close to competing in the division and something is wrong.

New York also has to play teams like the Denver Broncos, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Detroit Lions, the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings, and the New England Patriots. All of those teams are drastically better than the Giants. Even if the Giants beat the Saints, there is a chance that they finish with a 1-16 and 2-15 record.

The season for the Giants after another 0-2 start appears to be over with a brutal schedule ahead. Once New York has another horrible season and potentially see themselves at 0-17 or close to it, there are going to be massive changes this offseason because this team is not close to showing any improvements whatsoever.
