Ariana Grande was heard speaking in a new accent in a recent interview, as shared by @TinyElNews on X (formerly Twitter). Some claim that she has now dropped the accent of her character, Glinda, from the movie Wicked and Wicked: For Good.
Ariana Grande is gearing up for the release of Wicked: For Good on November 21 this year. It is the second part of Wicked, which was released on November 22 last year. During the promotional run, she was heard speaking in a different voice than usual, allegedly in her Glinda accent.
However, she appears to have now dropped that accent, as heard in a new clip shared online. It's unclear which interview the clip is from. Fans online have reacted to it, though, as one X user wrote:

Wicked director opens up on Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's friendship
CinemaCon 2025 - Universal Pictures and Focus Features Invite you to a Special Presentation Featuring Footage from their Upcoming Slate (Image Source: Getty)Ariana Grande starred as Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo played the role of Elphaba in Wicked, which was released last year. They are now back with Wicked: For Good, set to come out later this year.
During the press tour for the film, director Jon M. Chu opened up about Grande and Erivo's evolving friendship in an interview with PEOPLE on October 28. He said:
"These two are the two biggest voices in the world, maybe in our lifetime. They could have hated each other. There could have been insane divaship, but they always put Wicked bigger than themselves, and I think that's a great sign of a great artist that they could immerse themselves in Elphaba and Galinda and they could find themselves within these characters." "And I think it only makes Elphaba and Galinda bigger than life, and we get to know them more intimately than ever. I think that's why it feels culturally relevant because of what they're bringing to these characters. It made my job a lot easier," he added. This comes amidst Ariana Grande sharing an image of her and Cynthia Erivo getting matching tattoos. She shared two images on her Instagram on Saturday, November 1.
The first picture showed her and Erivo on the set of Wicked: For Good. In the second picture, she showed both their hands, which had "For Good" tattooed on them. She wrote in the caption:
"happy wicked month @wickedmovie ♡ 20 days"In April this year, Erivo spoke about her synergy while singing with Grande, saying:
“There's a wonderful synergy when you're working with a person who gets it, and they can look in your eyes and know exactly what you need, when you need it, without you having to say it.”She added that they work well together with each other because they listen to each other. Grande, meanwhile, said last year that while she learnt a lot from Erivo about the profession, she also learnt a lot "as a person from her".
