The Houston Rockets fans have a reason to be worried ahead of their do-or-die Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers at Toyota Center. The Rockets need to win this game to force Game 7 in LA. The tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 pm local time.
The NBA has reportedly assigned veteran official Scott Foster as crew chief for Game 6. The news is already grabbing a lot of attention among the netizens, with Rockets fans fearing the worst.
According to Basketball Reference, with Foster officiating, the Rockets have a decent 4-1 record. The Rockets average 106.4 points per game while conceding 101.2 points. With Foster running alongside the floor, the Rockets have received 23.8 free throw attempts per game while their opponent have received 21.9 attempts. Even in calling out personal fouls, the Rockets have the edge (17.3-20.0) over their opponent.
This all suggests that Foster might be a good thing for Houston. But that's not the case and you'll know that in a bit.
Why Rockets fans don't trust Scott Foster
Scott Foster shares a troublesome past with the Rockets.
In the 2018 Western Conference Finals Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors, Foster made some pretty outrageous calls that were even mocked by broadcasters.
In the video below, you'll find how several of James Harden's shots from beyond the arc were denied with evident fouls. Also, check the drive from Eric Gordon at 1:23 in the video. Gordon is attempting to complete a tough finish, and despite two Warriors defenders crashing into him mid-air, no foul was called.

— LebronJamesHarden™️ (@LBJamesHarden) September 2, 2020The Warriors went on to win the game, 101-92. Even former Rockets players have had issues with Foster. Harden once said that the veteran is "rude and arrogant," while any Rockets fan would know the long-standing feud between Foster and Chris Paul.
The above video, coupled with distasteful relations with former Rockets stars, is hard evidence of why Houston fans have a pit in their stomach with Foster calling the fouls from the sidelines in Game 6.
