Why Ravens are a good trade fit with Cardinals for first-round WR bust

The Baltimore Ravens are 1-1 in the 2026 season through two weeks, which is not anything alarming. But what is alarming is that their wide receiver room is very questionable.

Ja'Kobi Lane, a rookie WR who garnered a lot of hype this preseason, was placed on injured reserve after just one week. He's expected to come back, but his absence can be felt. But the real issue is the lack of Zay Flowers, who's dealing with a hamstring issue.

There's a real chance Flowers is out again in Week 3, and might be dealing with this hamstring issue all year. The Ravens really could use some WR help. That's why Bleacher Report's Moe Moton highlighted the Ravens as a sensible landing spot for Arizona Cardinals first-round bust, Marvin Harrison Jr.

Why Ravens make sense as a Marvin Harrison Jr. trade destination

"In the short term, Harrison can provide a much-needed boost to the Ravens' aerial attack," Moton writes. "Even with a healthier unit, the 6'4'', 220-pound receiver can be a more reliable target on the perimeter than Bateman while Flowers works out of the slot."

The Ravens wide receiver room really could use some help already this season. Flowers is banged up, Lane is on IR, and the rotation of Rashod Bateman, Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester, Chris Moore, and Elijah Sarratt leaves a lot to be desired.

Adding Harrison into the mix would give the Ravens a new high-upside target who might be able to mesh well with a superstar quarterback, one that he hasn't played with since being drafted by the Cardinals in 2024.

As Moton notes, this isn't just a short-term move for the Ravens. Adding Harrison would give the Ravens a much better WR room overall, even when they have a fully healthy roster.

Harrison, Flowers, and Lane, with the other WRs as depth options, would make for quite the strong WR room in Baltimore.

While it might not compare to some of the best WR rooms in the league, it's a strong group that would not be shocking for a Super Bowl winner.

Relying so heavily on Flowers isn't the best idea, especially since his hamstring issue could linger for much of the season. Adding Harrison, even if it costs a bit, would make sense.

There is a real question as to whether he's actually available or not, but if the Cardinals are willing to listen, taking a chance on Harrison, who has 12 touchdowns and 1,526 yards on 104 receptions in 31 games in his career, would be one worth taking.
