Natalie Portman’s Son Makes Rare Appearance With Streamer Marlon LuGa
Natalie Portman isn’t counting on her kids to watch any of her films by May or even December.
The Avengers: Endgame actress—who shares kids Aleph, 14, and Amelia, 8, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied—shared that her kids aren’t interested in seeing her on the big screen, even in the iconic Star Wars films.
“My kids are so resistant to seeing anything that I’m in,” Natalie told E! News' Will Marfuggi at The Gallerist premiere at Sundance Jan. 24. “I was always like, ‘Yeah, if you want to see it, like if some of your friends have seen it or whatever.’ And they were like “’No, thanks.’”
But that’s just because they want the Oscar winner in her best role: mom.
As she put it, “They kind of just want to see me as me, which I appreciate.”
But this wouldn’t be the first time that Natalie has shared insight into her family life. After finalizing her divorce from Benjamin in March 2023, the 44-year-old shared a rare glimpse into her dynamic with the former couple’s kids.
“My kids are always a source of excitement,” Natalie told Jenna Ortega in an April 15 Interview profile, “because you just see them develop into the individuals they are.”
And the Black Swan star—who filed for divorce from the French filmmaker in 2023 after 10 years of marriage—noted that she is currently formulating her social life around her tweens.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, their kids and my kids,” Natalie explained. “That’s pretty fun.”

Although her little ones will always be her top priority, Natalie stressed that even when she became a mom, she never envisioned herself stepping away from acting.
“I was just excited to have kids with a person I was in love with,” she admitted, adding of the pair’s profession, “It’s really important to have people in your life who keep you on the ground.”
While navigating motherhood and divorce hasn’t been easy, the No Strings Attached actress previously noted how some words of encouragement from Rihanna—who called her one of “hottest b---hes in Hollywood”—got her through the low point in her life.
“It was exactly what I needed,” Natalie reflected during a 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show. “I think every woman going through a divorce should get to have Rihanna say to her that she’s a bad b---h.”
